It talks about all the things that can take away freedom and how we as individuals can help stop it. It gave some pretty good council like: getting involved in your city council and creating your own entrepreneurial community.

Sep 25, Charlie Johnson rated it it was ok Shelves: america , non-fiction. Let me get this out of the way first: he's not wrong.
He just presents the facts in such an overly simplified and superficial manner that it's difficult to take seriously.
For example quotes are not cited in the text or in footnotes. He also makes broad and sweeping statements and jumps to conclusions.
For the conclusions he draws, there is significantly little time spent showing the mental work used to draw them. Jul 18, Chuck Cova rated it it was amazing Shelves: pers-prof-dev.

Nov 26, Janiece rated it it was amazing. Excellent book. Highly recommended. This one is altogether different. It is clear and concise, optimistic, yet realistic.
Even though I was familiar with much of the content, it was presented in a way that brought clarity and connection in a way I have not seen before.
More than that, it gives solutions. I love his expose' on how rare freedom is. We the people are the problem and the Excellent book.
We the people are the problem and the solution. I have read it twice and will read it again and refer to it often. From another review I wrote: "This book gives us the historical context for our modern day problems and why we are all so frustrated with the lack of real answers and improvements year after year, election after election.
It gives words to that feeling you have that something is really wrong and you don't know why or what to do about it so you simply get angry or turn down the sound and focus on other things.
But it does not end there. It offers practical solutions that leave you feeling empowered and hopeful and inspired to put behind the doubts, the frustration, the distractions and on to the business of being a part of that vital shift towards freedom.
When the understanding of the citizens is complex, the actions they must take are simple. But the American Founding generations did something that almost no others have done.
They read the fine print! They taught their children to read bills, laws, court cases, legislative debates, executive decrees, bureaucratic policies.
The loss of the idea that each citizen needs the same quality of education as every governor, senator, president, or CEO has taken its toll on our freedoms and prosperity.

DeMille explains four Turning Points that need to be reversed, giving us viable solutions to reverse the negative effects of the loss of freedoms we are experiencing from the Turning Points.
While they seem easy on the surface, they will actually take effort of a great number of citizens all working towards reversing these negative trends.
It is quite a paradigm shift to effectively change our thinking to embrace the solutions. Yes, but it will take a shift in thinking and tenacious focus on changing our present lethargy towards individual action.
My duty as a citizen is clear. I understand the need for change in the right direction. With the knowledge this book explains, it is difficult to turn one's back on the need to be actively pursuing to educate ourselves on the laws and what our government is doing, with our consent I might add.

I know I'm pretty ignorant about US History. I know enough about the Founding Fathers and the beginning of this country that I have great admiration and gratitude for the life they set up for us.
But when I read things they said, and the things they believed in, I find that we are so far from what the founders had intended or hoped for.
Somehow, we really messed things up. I wondered where we went wrong. Was it a gradual decline, or did something big happen in the last two hundred years that got I know I'm pretty ignorant about US History.
Was it a gradual decline, or did something big happen in the last two hundred years that got us so off track? DeMille explains 4 events that happened beginning in that led to this "worldshift" in other words, what the heck went wrong.
But that is only the first half of the book! The second half tells us what to do about it! That's what is different about DeMille from so many others who like to talk about politics.
He doesn't just complain or blame, he gives real solutions! The second half gives 3 main solutions that each of us can do to turn this country around.

This message is critical to our freedom. Most people who love freedom are only doing a few of the things it takes to retain it.
We are very good at pointing our fingers at our current politicians and representatives and telling them when they are off track but we are terrible at holding ourselves accountable to the standards that maintain freedom.
This book not only gives a historical background to our last Force Shift, it explains what it will take to prevent another one in the next 25 years.
I This message is critical to our freedom. I am sharing this message and book with many people. It should get into the hands of anyone who wants to regain or our freedoms.

How many of us will actually read this book, let alone discuss and act on the points he makes? Nov 04, Dean Mundy rated it really liked it.
While overstated, I believe, that four events fundamentally changed the way US government functions and made us less free, the book was good in pointing out why these events, the 16th and 17th amendments, the beginning of the Federal Reserve, and the court case mentioned, had a bearing on where America has gone in the years since.
It is also a good primer on what the Founding Fathers were thinking when they wrote certain things into the Constitution.
